With over 30 years of experience, Pawel, a distinguished Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, embarked on his journey in Lublin, Poland, where his passion for biology and English bloomed. His academic excellence and linguistic prowess led him to explore Western Europe, from an English work camp to the Swiss Alps and a Danish tulip farm. Influenced by political unrest, he left Poland in 1982, eventually settling in British Columbia, Canada. Pawel’s true calling emerged in animal care, culminating in the establishment of “Sunwood Veterinary Hospital” in Coquitlam. His holistic approach, blending acupuncture, herbs, and more, reflects his belief in comprehensive, hope-filled treatment. Pawel’s mission is a visit that is respectful, pain-free, and uniquely tailored.

Paulina graduated from Thompson Rivers University, completing Animal Health Technology in 2020. Being the daughter of a veterinarian, she has a lifetime of knowledge but has formally worked in the veterinary field for 14 years. Growing up she had many pets including cats, dogs, hamsters, birds, and two very cute axolotls.
Veterinary assistant /receptionist
Janine is the author of the internationally published The Dragon Temple Trilogy, and the literary novel, The Footstop Cafe. Save for a decade working as a paralegal, Janine has been in the veterinary field since she was a teen when she was lucky enough to assist a vet in doing a root canal on an elephant. She currently owns an adorable, comedic cockapoo named Zeus.
Veterinary Assistant Technician
Desiree has been working at Lonsdale Pet Hospital since 2021 as a certified Veterinary Assistant Technician. She moved to Vancouver, canada after completing a Master of Science in Geomorphology Hydrology in Iran and a Ph.D. in the same Halifax. she grew up on a small suburban farm and over her life has owned chickens, snakes, sheep goats, an owl, and a cat. She is currently the proud owner of Daisy, a Shih Tzu, and Treasure and Silver, two budgies. Her two daughters are the light of her life.
Veterinary assistant/ file manager supervisor
With a strong love for animals over 10 years of experience in the veterinary industry and six years of experience as a licensed veterinarian in specialty pet clinics in Mexico. Mariana brings a wealth of skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to Londsdale Pet Hospital. Proficient in all areas of hospital management and administration, Mariana is our hospital file manager. On weekends when she’s not out exploring Vancouver, she’s gaming on her computer with Kitty-cat Mr Mcfatty curled by her side.
